Welcome to Grant Township

Located only a few miles from the eastern shore of Lake Michigan between the cities of Muskegon and Ludington, Grant Township is situated at the southern end of Oceana County. The township has a current population of 3,018 people according to the 2010 U.S. Census.

While mostly a rural area, there are two golf courses and many retail businesses located within the township borders. Also, there is a foundry, a machine shop, a resort/ranch, and a canning company providing employment for many area residents. Farming continues to be a major occupation for many people of Grant Township. This region of Michigan is known for its large fruit orchards and asparagus production.

Grant Township was incorporated in 1866 from the Claybanks Territory and was named to honor the 18th President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant
